Greetings from Veganville!  Spring is arriving to our coastal mountain property and we have been planning and working away to achieve some milestone objectives this year!

We now have our vision planned out for the property and how to best utilize every inch of the land to suit our mission. Veganville strives to become an example of sustainable farming utilizing permaculture methods. Permaculture is the development of an agricultural ecosystem that is sustainable with the greatest amount of self-reliance for any given area, property, or community. To begin achieving this, Veganville is having the land surveyed, applying for a Fruit Orchard Grant and implementing fund-raising for fencing the perimeter, animal enclosures, and garden plot.

With 36,770,958.98 gallons per year of rainwater collection potential annually, nitrogen rich soil, located in USDA Zone 8a, and solar/wind energy source capabilities, Veganville has a unique opportunity to utilize the land to it’s maximum potential.

Good land management requires a beneficial relationship with the local ecosystems. For Veganville, this includes keeping part of the property wild. With over 20 endangered species in the area, Veganville is committed to preserving a wildlife conservation area on the property. On January 17, 2018, Veganville became a Certified Wildlife Habitat® with the National Wildlife Federation and the Oregon Association of Northwest Steelheaders.

We are also working on our first animal enclosures. One being our chicken coop and the other, a half-acre enclosure connected to a small barn. We are very excited to welcome our first rescues this spring so stay tuned for news and ways to help us out with this. We are planning on hosting work parties on the property every third Sunday of the month now through September.

We are continuing as a host farm for WWOOF-USA and accepting WWoofers through October and renting out RV Hookups through TryItTiny, AirBNB and Hipcamp.

We are very excited to start our third year as an organization achieving some mission milestones and thank everyone out there for your continued support. We look forward to what the year has in store for us!
