Veganville is a Registered Non profit 501(c)3 organization: ein 81-2539800
We received our articles of non-profit corporation status in February of 2016, purchased the property in June and worked very hard to apply for our tax exempt status in December of 2016. Any donation made to Veganville since February of 2016 is now officially tax-deductible.
We are diligently working on fundraising and grant opportunities to begin building safe enclosures and shelters for our first rescues. With the Oregon coastal storms starting in October through March, summer is the time to be working hard on the property.
If you’re interested in getting involved or helping us start-up the sanctuary, you can do any of the following:
We are hosting a work party this Sunday July 30th from 10am-2pm and also a camp out Meteor Shower viewing Saturday August 12th. Please reply with any questions or if you are interested in these events.
Thank you!
2016 being our first year as an organization, we have come a long way! We filed for our Articles of Incorporation, purchased our property, networked in the community, applied for our non-profit status, had some events on the property and worked really hard on getting this property ready for animal rescues. We are really looking forward to 2017 and our hopes of opening to the public this summer.
We had an opportunity to rescue a couple of unwanted donkeys from a local farm but they were given away before we were ready for them. The same farm is looking for a home for two llamas currently. This property does not have safe enclosures for animals yet but we are working on an enclosure for the llamas or cows and a chicken coop.
Please stay tuned for upcoming work parties and events on the farm. If anyone is interested in coming to look at the property, please contact us at contact@veganvilleoregon.com
We are going to really need the support of the community this year to get us up and running in 2017. We are so looking forward to what the coming year has in store for us!
Veganville had the great opportunity to be a vendor at Northwest VegFest 2016 on October 22nd and 23rd. We were very excited to be among the Portland Vegan Community and enjoyed meeting some wonderful people who showed interest in becoming involved with us.
For everyone who donated and purchased merchandise, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Being a new sanctuary, every little bit helps us get started. For everyone who submitted their emails, we are working on an email campaign that will keep everyone up to date on future events, animal rescues and work events.
We look forward to next year’s VegFest and how we can all come together and help animals, the environment and humanity.
Veganville hosted their first Camp Out event on August 20th, 2016. It was a beautiful night on the farm and we had visitors all the way from Portland join in around the fire.
It was a delightful evening of forging new friendships, Vegan S’mores, delicious food and great conversation under the stars. Veganville plans on making this a yearly event around the Perseids Meteor Shower in mid-August 2017.
Just a few weeks in the area and we are thrilled at the amount of support Veganville has received from the Portland community. We hosted our first event on Sunday June 26th to give the community a chance to come and meet us and answer questions about our vision of becoming a farm animal sanctuary and eco-village as well as our time line of how to get that started.
In order for us to accomplish this, we ask for anyone who is able, to volunteer their time out on the property to help build enclosures, create gardens and general property clean up. Message us if you’re interested in coordinating your availability. Other ways to help is to donate any new or used garden/farm supplies and equipment. Message us if you’d like to coordinate a drop off time. We currently have a wish list on Amazon along with a gofundme for anyone interested in helping in those ways as well. Sharing our Facebook page, website, events, blogs and pictures are always very helpful too!
Thank you again to everyone who came out to the event! It was incredible to meet you and share our dream with you all! Stay tuned…
